Rich Abrams is the Operations Associate for the Yale School of Drama, and has recently completed his 44th year in entertainment production. Mr. Abrams provides stage management and production consulting for shows in the New York/Connecticut area; ranging from opera to rock. Some recent credits include the SoNo (Conn.) Arts Celebration; Broadway Meows at NYC’s Don’t Tell Mama; Cenerentola at various NYC libraries for the Capitol Heights Opera Company; Cairo Stories by Slant of Light Theater (Conn.); The International Cabaret Conference at Yale; Drums Along The Hudson at Inwood Park; and An Evening of Dance on Staten Island with Melissa West and Company. Rich is an active member of the Stage Managers’ Association and the American Guild of Musical Artists. He has received awards from the Garden State Opera Company, the Norwalk, Conn. Oyster Festival and the Cape Cod Tourism Office. Mr.Abrams wishes to thank his wife Arlene and his Sheltie puppy Bear for their support and love, and he looks forward to working with Harmonia Opera in future productions.
Japanese Dance Instructor, Choreographer & Costume Designer
Helen Moss
Helen Moss, born in Giessen, Germany, is instructor of Japanese movement and costumer for Harmonia Opera. She teaches and performs Japanese classical dance in the elegant Sõke Fujima Style with IchiFuji-kai Dance Association, currently under direction of Grandmaster, Fujima Kanjuro VIII. She studied in New York with Madame Fujima Nishiki for 25 years, receiving both natori andshihan licenses, as well as the name Fujima Nishiki-no. After assisting Madame Fujima with Japanese movement for several Harmonia Opera productions, including the first production of Haibo, Kesa to Morito, the Noh opera Kantan, and Nasu no Yoichi, she continued on to celebrate Harmonia Opera;s 25th Anniversary for the Company with the American Premier of Kurofune by Kosaku Yamada at Alice Tully Hall as well as other productions and says, “the choreography that emerges from within the music is a collaborative effort among all the dancers”. Ms. Moss teaches Japanese classical dance in Manhattan, also lecturing and presenting workshops on Japanese cultural subjects associated with dance and costuming.
